Power Cut Outs
Apart from the normal cuts in the electricity supply two other minor breaks were experienced in Whakatane on Thursday and one on Friday. The Friday night shut down occurred at 7 p.m. when Friday, night shopping was approaching its peak and caused considerable embarrassment to shoppers. Within five minutes, however, the lights came on again and conditions quickly returned to normal.
