GALLANTRY MEDALS FOR BIRDS
The first two Dickin medals—animals’ V.C.—to go to the Dominions, and also the first for service in the war against Japan have been awarded to pigeon D.D.43 T. 139 Bine Cock and pigeon D.D.43 Q. 879, attached to the Australian Corps of Signals. lii the bomb-damaged church of St. Dunstan-in-the-East, the rector, the Rev. A. G. B. West, Master Parson, who has close associations with Australia, handed the medals to Lt.TCol. R. K. Roseblade, of the Australian Corps of Signals. They will 'be sent to Australia to be presented to the winners at a Special ceremony in Melbourne.
