AUXILIARY OF R.S.A.

SOLDIERS’ FATHERS ORGANISE

The formation in New Zealand of an association (the Returned Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen’s Fathers’ Association) similar- to that in Australia is the hope of Mr W. G. Wright, Queensland, State secretary of the association, who arrived at New Plymouth in the New Zealand Star.

" Mr Wright stressed that the object of the Fathers’ association was to help all returned servicemen, irrespective of age, religion, political beliefs, social faults or anything else for which they would be penalised by other organisations. The whole object of the association was to work for the good of the community and in particular for those returned servicemen other associations did not help. The association was non-sectarian, and if any members introduced religion or politics into a meeting he was automatically asked to resign. Mr Wright said he intended to survey the present organisation in New Zealand to see if there was in this country any movement similar to his association.

In Australia, the Fathers’ association works as an auxiliary of the Returned Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen’s League.
