Dear Sir

The Editor reserves the right to abridge, amend or withhold any letter or letters. DO UNTO OTHERS Sir, —On Sunday last, while watching a game of hockey at Taneatua, I was astounded to see one of the local well known citizens of. the town calmly walk-through the team while they were playing, in order to reach his car, which was parked on the roadway. I have never seen such contempt for a game of any sort, and if the gentleman concerned had less to say at hospital meetings and gave more thought to others, we would all be much happier? Yours etc., HOCKEY PLAYER.
MR NASH AND BRETTON WOODS Sir, —Mr Nash when speaking at a press conference (London, March 27) and replying to questions re Bretton Woods; stated that to give his opinion might start a controversy here in New Zealand. This is just what is wanted; that the determina- ' tion of signing their own death warrant should come from the people. Mr Nash and his colleagues side tracked the issue before the elections. He remarked that Britain would be in a difficult position on July 15 when sterling will be convertable into dollar currencies. I would suggest that being the case, we would take the warning in time and refuse to be tied to the dollar exchange as dictated by Bretton Woods. The plotters are using the financial system together with the imposition of Bureaucratic Socialism, in the furtherance of their policy. New Zeaand has nothing to gain by ratifying the proposals; it may be argued that New Zealand must be committed to Bretton Woods because Great Britain is committed to it, that we must preserve Empire unity! So far from having anything to do with Empire unity Bretton Woods is designed to disrupt the - British Empire! The desperate food position in Great Britain is the lever used to force the British people under the control of the international plotters (it can happen here) but in order to protect ourselves from that control and to help our kith and kin of the British uses to escape from the dictatorship of the international plotters; New Zealanders must refuse to allow their Government or Governments to commit them to Bretton Woods without a hearing! Refuse to - be committed to something which, to say the very least is suspect, and which has never been brought before the electors by members of Parliament. Surely it is quite clear to all thinking people that Bretton Woods, and all the other international planning we have heard about, has not helped the British people in any way. Neither can it help us. Yours etc., W. BRADSHAW.
