Freedom For Engineers

An appeal for more freedom for the engineer, who should be given the job of planning as well as executing, was made by Dr. Percy Dunsheath, immediate past president of the British Institution of Electrical Engineers, at a civic reception given him in Wellington. The engineer should be told the need for electric power, for example, and left to fulfil it in his own way, rather than be left merely to instal plant in quantities and places already decided for him, said -Dr Dunsheath. The visitor also appealed for a wider education of engineers in the future.
