FOOTBALL SEASON
MURUPARA CLUB At the recent annual meeting of the club the following officers were elected for the coming season: — Patron, Mr K. B. Clellan; chairman, Mr H. T. Bird; secretary and treasurer, Mr S. McManus. The financial position of the club is very healthy as was shown by the accounts presented by the secretary. It is interesting to note that this club lost every match except the last two in the past season. The wins, they had were however a compensation for the losses as they won the Bus Company’s Shield. Despite the earlier losses the club members showed a great spirit and were fighters to the finish. They played their first friendly y match of this season against Wairapakau on Saturday. Although good football was not to be expected the game was of interest.
