Good Work by Red Cross

An instance of the varied work carried out by the Red Cross Society was given when the Wahine arived from Sydney last week with a young woman passenger who travelled as a “cot case.” Having been advised by cable of the woman’s pending arrival, the New Zealand Red Cross Society arranged for the ship to be met by V.A.D. and transport personnel. With the assistance of the staffs of the Union Shipping Company and the Free Ambulance, the patient was transferred from the Wahine to the Rangitira and was met on her arrival in Lyttelton by Red Cross transport, and taken to her relatives, future !
