CALEDONIAN INGLESIDE

SUCCESSFUL OPEN NIGHT The Whakatane Caledonian Society staged a very successful open Ingleside in the Caledonian Hall on Saturday night. The Pipe Band was in attendance and provided music for some of the dances. The Premier Orchestra provided the remainder of the music. ■ An exhibition of the Eighthsome Reel was given by a group of the younger members who have been receiving instruction in the Scottish dances from Chief Duncan Anderson for a short period. Items were given by Miss D. Stewart. Emergency lighting was used successfully when the power was cut off at 10.30. An excellent supper was served and the evening concluded with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
