BASKETBALL DANCE
THORNTON GIRLS ENTERTAIN The newly formed Basketball Club at Thornton held a very successful dance on April 1. Some two hundred people crowded the floor. Music was supplied by the Rhythm Vendors Orchestra and Mr M. Law made a capable M.C. and kept the dances going in full swing. Lights went out at 10.30 but alternative lighting arrangements were ready to take over. After supper, Mrs Grant, President of the club, thanked all those who had come along and helped to make the dance a .success.
A competition for a dinner was woi by R. Sehneller Ticket No. 128. A Monte Carlo was won by Miss Gwen Harrison and partner and a Lucky Gay Gordon was won by Miss Lorna Phillips and Mr Tom Mexted. Dancing continued until 1 a.m.
