BOXING CHAMPIONSHIPS
.... BAY OF PLENTY CONTESTS CLAIMS OF TAURANGA Inquiries are to be made from the New Zealand Boxing Council as to whether the Bav of Plenty cham-* pionships must bf- held at a denned centre year by year or whether the location may be changed. If so, the Tauranga Boxing Association is to apply for the Bay of Plenty Championships to be held in Tauranga this year, before the South Auckland championsh'ps.
A decision on these lines was reached at a committee meeting cf the Tauranga Boxing Association held after the annual meetink. There was an attendance of 23 at the annual meeting. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: Patron, Mr F. W. Doidge, M.P.; president, Mr S. H. Peterson; vicepresidents, Messrs. D. Garland, H. Olding, A. M. Nicholson, D Ivory, G. L. Green, J. Hore, J. Mitchell and R. Polley; executive committee, Messrs. T. McCord. N Sinclair, H. T. Bradshaw, F. Cobb, A. J. Denbv, R. Ilorsroft, G. L. Gieen, R. Stacey, and R. W Cairns; secrptarv, Mr D. V. Ensor; auditor, Mr M. J. Eagles.
