WHAKATANE WINS ONE-DAY * MATCH GAME AT ROTORUA An enjoyable game was played on Saturday between teams representing Rotorua and Whakatane at the Kuiraui Reserve, Rotorua. The match, which was played through-' out in the traditional cricketing spirit, resulted in a win for Whakatane by 195 to 151. Whakatane had first use of the wicket, and chiefly through the agency of Le Pine (29), Rivett (47), McKenzie (34) and Wilson (35, not out), compiled a respectable total. Bowling for Rotorua, M. Curtis, in taking five wickets for 18 runs, set up a sterling performance. For Rotorua, Higgins (29), Andrews (35), Lyle (28), were the most successful batsmen. A. Fisher bore the brunt of the Whakatane attack, but Le Pine was the more -successful, taking five for 47.
