DRY SPELL BROKEN WEEKEND FALL 1.36 INCHES The prolonged dry spell which was causing so much concern has broken. Over the weekend 1.36 inches of rain were recorded and as a result the whole countryside is refreshed. The rain however has come too late to be of any appreciable benefit as fair as production is concerned.

The weather broke on Thursday when .20 inches were recorded in the Borough. On Sunday morning the Saturday fall measured .42 inches and when on Sunday evening the weather broke again the fall this morning measured a further .64 inches. The total over the whole period was 1.36 inches while today still further rain is threatening and according to the forecast heavy falls are still expected.
