World Scout Rally

The deputy-leader of the New Zealand contingent of the sixth world jamboree of the Boy Scouts’ Association, to be held in France in August, will be Mr F. J. MacKenzie, of Lower Hutt, it has been announced by Dominion headquarters of the association. Sir Joseph Ward, of Auckland, will lead the contingent. At present assistant county commissioner for scouts in the Hutt Valley and Bays scout county, Mr MacKenzie has been actively associated with the scout movement since 1919. He is the holder of the scout and rover wood badges, and in 1934-35 attended the Melbourne Jamboree and in 1938-39 the Sydney Jamboree. He is the holder of the association’s Medal for Merit and Bar.
