PROJECTED NEW POST OFFICE HIGH PRIORITY CATEGORY Writing the Borough Council, the Commissioner of Woi’ks, advises that Whakatane’s new Post Office is regarded by the P. and T. Depart-, ment as one of its most urgently needed buildings. The Minister of Works writingunder the same heading advised that sketch plans were now in the course of preparation. Commenting dryly on the latter, His Worship the Mayor at last Monday’s meeting, observed that it was the same reply he had received from Hon. Mr Jones 8 or 9 years ago. The letter from the Commissioner seemed to shed a brighter ray of hope.
