WARNING ISSUED
WATER SUPPLY PRECARIOUS RESTRICTIONS ENFORCED The power shortage is havihg a drastic effect upon the town’s water supply which owing to the dry spell was already in a precarious position. With the fluctuating power supply, the pumps are liable to come to a standstill at any time and the Borough authorities have found it necessary to post a man at the switches most .of the time. The Council at its meeting last Monday evening decided to take the most stringent measures to enforce the water restrictions with regard to the use of hoses for gardens. In the interests of the community as a whole, househofders are asked to co-operate to the utmost in order to safeguard against a major emergency action with water in the same way as has taken place with regard to electricity.
