Honey In Food Parcels
Some senders of food parcels to Britain have recently been asked to call at the Auckland Post Office and repack their parcels, following the discovery of leakages, chiefly of golden syi’up or honey. In some cases the leakages were due to improper sealing of tins and in others to the use of cardboard cartons. An official at the chief post office said that apart from these defects, which were not common, parcels posted in Auckland were excellently packed. However, leakage of honey an syrup frequently spoiled other parcels and always caused delay to the staff.
