JUNIOR NATIONAL PARTY

TENNIS COMPETITION The ever increasing membership of the Whakatane Junior National Party Club enjoyed a very happy programme on Saturday last at the residence of Mrs C. A. Timbs. A tennis competition was the main attraction, and Clock and Chinese Golf filled in a very happy afternoon. Winners in' the various competitious were: Tennis, Rosina Raw and Jack Budd; Chinese Golf, Margaret Robins Clock Golf, Gerald Gartshore. An. excellent afternoon tea was provided by the lady members, and the event was thoroughly enjoyed by 40 members of the club. Especial thanks to Mrs Timbs for her generosity in allowing the club the use of her lovely property. .. . Previously the club has organised trips to the Sandhills and Whale Island, the latter event to be repeated at the end of this month.
