ROAD FREIGHT SERVICE

REINSTATED LAST MONDAY The through freight service between Taneatua railhead and Gisborne was reinstated last Monday and will operate five days a week, Monday to Friday. The service will be a trial one for three months. Up to last week freight for Gisborne came to Opotiki with the freight transport and meant a good deal of rehandling. Two lorries now leave Taneatua each night from Monday to Friday, the goods for OpStiki being on one of the trucks only. The Gisborne truck now go right through to Gisborne instead of being held over night at Opotiki.
