BALLOT RESULT UPHELD
BAY GRANTED PROVINCIAL STATUS The Dominion Council in Wellington last week fully considered the result of the ballot held in the Bay of Plenty, to determine the position of the Bay, and after a lengthy discussion, decided to uphold the ballot, and the Bay of Plenty was granted Provincial status, /which means it is now a Province of Federated Farmers, New Zealand, with headquarters in Wellington. Auckland Federation objected to this being done. Messrs. Dunning, McCready, and the five Auckland members of the Council addressed the \Council, and stated their reasons why the ballot should be declared invalid. Messrs. Friss of Tauranga and H. S. Holmes of Opotiki represented the Bay of Plenty.
