Raffle Resuit The cot quilt rallied in aid of the Women’s Ward Wireless Fund at the Whakatane Hospital, was won by Miss Gwen Kyi a, of Ohope. Ohope Flunket Appeal In connection with the Ohope Plunket appeal day tomorrow afternoon a feature will be the special Baby Competition which will be open to all comers. Edgecumbe Plunket Garden Party Residents of Edgecumbe are notified that the forthcoming Plunket Garden Party will now be held at the residence of Rev. and Mrs J. H. Starnes, the Manse, Edgecumbe. The event of course is on Tuesday next March 11. Large Shark Caught A large shark, measuring nine feet and two inches was caught on Friday by Mr Patrick Aromoana; off Hokianga Island, Ohiwa Harbour, on his hand line. This is the largest shark caught for some time in Ohiwa Harbour. The record is held by Mr Allan Abbot of Woodlands, who caught a shark ten feet long some years ago in Ohiwa Harbour.

Rowing Club’s Dance Dance lovers-are reminded of the dance by the Whakatane Rowing Club to be staged in the King Street Hall on Saturday night (tomorrow). The club has every reason to be proud of its excellent rowing record during the past few months and for this reason alone deserves the fullest patronage and support. Arrangements include a number of novelties which. should create plenty of fun. Supper will be par-excellence, and the music A.l.
