CROQUET INTERESTS

SUCCESSFUL GARDEN PARTY On February 1 a Garden Party was held at the Croquet lawns in ideal weather and a very pleasant and enjoyable afternoon was spent by all present. Afternoon tea was served under the shelter of the trees which provided an ideal setting for the occasion. The Bring and Buy stall was well patronised. The following are the -winners of the competitions:— Bread Board: Mrs W. Henderson. Box Chocolates: Mrs R. Gilbert. Treasure Hunt: Mrs Boon. Umbrella Croquet: Mrs Loane. Ladder Croquet: Mrs Anstis. Hitting Balls through Hoops: Mrs Gilbert. Hitting the Peg: Mrs White. Members of the club recently went to Opotiki to compete for the A Cup. After some good games the honours went to the Opotiki players and they retained the Cup.
