Noxious Weed Control
Four gangs operating in the Whakatane county treating and cutting ragwort have covered a total of 3783 acres. The gangs are covering the districts of Waimana, Pekatahi, Poroporo, Paroa, Awakeri, Te Teko, Matata and Pikowai. To date nine tons of sodium have been used and a hundred tons of lime. The grant from the Government is now almost" used and it is considered that a further £6OO will be needed to complete clearing about March 14.
