Before commencing the business of the ordinary meeting of the Whakatane County Council last Tuesday, the chairman, Mr J. L. Burnett, made feeling reference to the death of Mr F. J. Savage, of Waimana, and moved a vote of condolence to his bereaved family. Mr Burnett remarked that the late Mr Savage had represented Nukuhou Riding on theCouncil for many years and during that period had worthily represented the ratepayers and had personally watched over their interests.
