PARENT-TEACHER ASSN.
SUCCESSFUL SOCIAL EVENING TWO INTERESTING TALKS There was a fair attendance of parents and teachers and others interested at the social evening sponsored by the Whakatane ParentTeacher Association on a recent evening. The guest speakers of the evening were Miss Tong, the Dental School Nurse, and Mr R .Chapman, the Manager of the Regent Theatre.
The meeting opened with the singing of the National Anthem. Rev. Bell, chairman, extended a welcome to the visitors and he also mentioned that the purpose of the gathering was not so much for entertainment, but to enable Parent-Teachers to get together and discuss problems that arose, and for everyone to do whatever possible to further the work of the school.

Two years was the earliest age at which enrolment was accepted. Mr R. Chapman, the Theatre Manager, spoke on the Formation and Aims of the Young New Zealanders Club.
