WILD WEST SHOW

LANCE SKUTHORPE AGAIN ! VISIT BY FULL COMPANY . . Residents of. Whakatane and district will welcome the return visit of Lance Skuthorpe’s Wild West Show, this time with the complete touring company under its own ‘Big Top’ or show, tent, and which will commence a three day’s show period in this town starting on Monday next.

Those who witnessed the thrilling sessions presented some six weeks ago will be pleased to learn of the additional members of the broncobusting team which, have since arrived from Australia, together with an additional number of show horses. In passing it is interesting to note that Mr Skuthorpe’s high popularity is exempified by the ‘popularity contest’ now being conducted in the Sydney dailies, in which all leading figures have been nominated. Mr Skuthorpe heads the list by 4000 votes with Darby Munro, the celebrated jockey second and Vic Patrick the boxer third.

The show we-understand is greatly enhanced by the number of new Aussie riders who have joined up and the performances may honestly be described as better than ever.
