DISCUSSION AT WAIMANA
FUTURE OF £15,000
At a meeting of the Waimana Patriotic and Gymkhana Committee held last Thursday evening, the question of the disposal of the £15,000 surplus in the Zone Patriotic Funds was discussed following receipt of a circular from the Secretary, Mr. C. G. Lucas.
The letter drew attention to the standing minute on the books which reads:
“That notice be given each interzone committee delegate that at the next meeting of this executive, which meeting will be held in six months time, consideration will be given to the matter of the winding up of this zone executive by the transfer of its activities and funds to a committee comprising representatives from the R.S.A., 2nd N.Z.E.F., Red Cross and Home Services Association—such organisations also to appoint the four Whakatane Zone representatives on the Bay of Plenty Provincial Patriotic Council—that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Bay of Plenty Provincial Patriotic Council. After considerable discussion it was resolved to hold the whole matter over for discussion at the annual meeting in April when the delegates would be instructed how to vote on the subject. It was also decided that no Gymkhana would be held this year.
