CEREMONY ON SATURDAY OUTPUT OF 5000 FEET DAILY Members of the firm and associated trades and business firms gathered at the premises of Whakatane Sawmillers Ltd. last Saturday afternoon, where an informal opening ceremony took place and the first official log was cut. The new mill which will be attached to Messi’s. Boon, Sullivan and Luke Ltd., as a feeder unit, will be a great asset to the town and should go a long way to satisfying the local timber demand so acute today on account of the building programme which is taking place in the Borough.

It is anticipated that the output when the mill is in full swing will approximate 5000 superficial feet daily..
