Friends of Miss Gwen Zinsli, of Whakatane, will be pleased to learn that she has now passed successfully through her operation in Auckland, and is making a good recovery at the Mater Hospital.
Mr Hayden Litchwark, who for many years has been managing the Whakatane branch shop of Messrs. Hannah's Ltd., has been appointed manager of the Rotorua branch, and leaves next week. His many friends in this town will wish him well in his new sphere. His place will be taken by Mr J. L. F. Moore of Nelson.
A special tribute to Mr Russell Chapman, Manager of the Regent and Grand Theatres, was paid by Mr Ophir Rees last Wednesday evening, when he stated publicly his thanks for all that Mr Chapman had done for his company. It was, he said, gestures of this nature which, went a long way towards making the visit of a theatrical company a pleasant one or otherwise.
