Beer Stocks Low

i Beer stocks on the West Coast are becoming low/The. reason for this, it is stated, is that breweries hold but small quantities of sugar and there is no immediate prospect of replenishment. The manager of one brewery has announced his policy as: "No sugar—no beer." The view is held in Greymouth that should the stocks of sugar held become exhausted, malt beer without sugar could be supplied. A Hokitika brewery has received no sugar since last October, and the remaining supplies are sufficient only for another month's brewing.
