OVERSEAS VARIETY STARS
GRAND THEATRE Spots of depression, if any can be found in "Watch Your Step" overseas variety and revue show coming to the Grand Theatre on Wednesday, February sth are submerged in the boom of talent headed by Joe Lawman, Australia's foremost comedian. Brimming over with laughter, hilarious sketches, charming ballets, tuneful music, and popular song hits, "Watch Your Step" scores an immediate success with theatre-goers everywhere it has been presented. The show has plenty of variety, and is played with zip and sparkle. The stage sets are effective and colourful, and lighting is used to good advantage. Outstanding in the cast of specialty acts is Royston, triple-voiced ventriloquist, and Jandy, the musical clown. The jugglers' ancient art is displayed by the Siscos, who are , amazingly skilful, and introduce I many novel features in their act.
To add even more variety to the show, Le Harley, the magician, demonstrates his skill in tearing designs from newspapers, while "Jarrett," novelty entertainer-cum clown deludes his audiences. Others who win instant approval are Eileen Bourke, singing violinist, Joy Robins, dashing comedienne and soubrette, Adele Taylor, soprano, Sherry, swing songstress, Maurice Tansley, tenor. Ophir Rees, singer, revue artist, and producer, also .reveals his versatility in the song scena, "Irish Lullaby." Box plans now open at Armstrong's Book Shop.
