CUP MATCHES Cricket enthusiasts will welcome the news that the dates for the first matches for t ,the Williams and the Attrill Cup have been settled. On Saturday 25th January (tomorrow) the United Cricket Club will meet Tauranga for the Williams Cup. The trophy, which is at present held by United, is for the best Club team in the Bay. On Saturday, February Ist, a Whakatane representative team will meet one from Tauranga for the Attrill Challenge Cup. This is held by the Whakatane Association, the visitors being the challengers. Both matches are listed to take place at the Whakatane Domain. Hours of play for the Attrill Cup game will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1.45 p.m. to 6 p.m. Following is the United team : W. McKenzie, M. Le Pine, C. Treadwell, L. Roach, G. Parkes, N. Rigden, G. Brassey, J. Whitehead, F. Cameron, E. Chamberlain and W. Crawford.

Official Scorer: E. Derecourt. Official Umpire: A. G. Fisher. All players are requested to be on the ground at 10 a.m. Following is the P. and T. team to play Waimana at Waimana on Sunday: Carling, Penny, Burt, Fisher, Neale, Hudson, Laloli, Taylor, Crapp, Howard, Shapley. Players are requested to be at the Domain Pavilion at 8.30 a.m. where transport will be arranged.
