TRANSFER OF PATIENT

LOCAL AMBULANCE’S PART A prominent part was played by the Whakatane St. John Ambulance when a recent transfer of a patient from the Auckland Hospital to her home at Te Kaha' was made. The trip was arranged by the St. John Association in Auckland, and was completed in the record time of three and a half hours. From the hospital in Auckland, the patient was transferred to Mangere aerodrome by ambulance, where a plane was waiting to take her to Opotiki. On arrival, the Whakatane Ambulance took over, and completed the journey.

Messrs. E. Ramson and D. Paterson of the Whakatane Brigade, were on duty with the Ambulance during the trip.
