L. Walton, S.M., in the Whakatane Magistrate’s Court yesterday morning.
Sergeant Farrell who outlined the case, said that the police had arrived about noon, and had found the door to the bar open, and the barman (James King) serving liquor as in pursuance of his normal duties, to two customers who were drinking the liquor. The barman for supplying the liquor was fined £2 and costs 10s, while the two customers Percy Kregar and William T. Strawbridge, who were charged with consuming liquor on premises required by law to be closed, were fined £2 and costs 20s each.
