Sequel to Fatality
In the Whakatane Court yesterday Kora Wahaponga (Mr Barry) pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle on October 20 with defective brakes. Mr Barry mentioned the fact that the charge concerned an accident in which defendant had been involved and in which another Maori had been killed. Defendant had served four years away with the armed forces and had already suffered a severe penalty in the Supreme Court. Fined 20s and costs 255.
