CAMPING GROUND

NEED FOR IMPROVEMENT BOROUGH SUPPORTS MODERN SITE “I think we need a good camping ground as quickly as possible,” said the Mayor, at the meeting of the Borough Council last Monday evening, when discussing recommendations contained in the Health Inspector’s report. “There are more and more visitors coming to our town,” he went on, “and I don’t think its a matter entirely for the Domain Board. We should attend to it and I think all Councillors will agree with me.” Cr Shapley said he favoured substantial financial help if that were necessary. It was essential that an up-to-date motor camp be available to visitors. On Cr Armstrong’s motion it was decided to delegate the whole question of a modern motor camp to the Works Committee for investigation.
