MOTORING FATALITY
WELL KNOWN DISTRICT FARMER’S DEATH ACCIDENT NEAR TAIHAPE The news of the death of Mr F. J. Savage, the well known Jersey and thoroughbred horse breeder of ‘Tuhoe,’ Waimana, came as a shock to town and district yesterday. Mr Savage who was on his way to the Trentham Yearling Sales, was proceeding along the road between Waiouru and Taihape when the accident occurred, the car overturning. As a result he was killed instantaneously and his brother and sister-in-law, Mr and Mrs Frank Savage, of Christchurch, who were passengers were removed to hospital suffering from injuries. The funeral leaves the Taneatua Anglican Church at 2 p.m. tomorrow.
