OBITUARY

MR C. H. BURNETT The death has occurred of Mr Charles Harris Burnett, M.P. for Tauranga from 1935 to 1938. Mr Burnett, who was educated at Wanganui College, farmed for 20 years at Fordell. He was a foundation member of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, and served on the Wanganui Borough Council for 12 years. Other local bodies with which he had been associated included the Wanganui Hospital Board, theWan-ganui-Rangitikei Power Board, the Wanganui and District Development League and the Wanganui Land Board. He served in the First World War.
