ACCIDENT AT PAPER MILLS

SEVERE CONCUSSION SUSTAINED

When ascending a ladder at the Whakatane Paper Mills last Monday evening, Mr John G. Cockburn, a married employee residing in Whakatane, sustained severe concussion when the ladder fell, and he was precipitated to the concrete floor, striking his head.

Though the fall was not a high one, Mr Cockburn fell heavily, and was attended to by two members of the St. John Ambulance Brigade who were working at the time. He was removed to the hospital where his condition is reported to be satisfactory.
