A STANDING DISGRACE

THE WHAKATANE POST OFFICE COUNTY COUNCIL’S SUPPORT “It is a standing disgrace that a town the size of Whakatane should have to carry on with such a building,” said Mr J. L. Burnett, Chairman of the County Council at last week’s meeting when discussing a letter from the Borough Council urging support for its representations for the building of £he longpromised Post Office. Mr Burnett went on to- say that the staff was working under great difficulties and he failed to realise how they managed to get through.

The council decided to wholeheartedly support the Borough in its efforts.
