THE WAR MEMORIAL

APPEAL TO BUSINESSMEN 'SHOULD GIVE LIBERALLY “Before I retire from the chair I would like to refer to the coming appeal which will be made for a War Memorial,” -said Mr H. G. Warren at the annual meeting of the Chamber of Commerce last evening. “There have already been meetings of citizens,” he added, “and when the appeal for funds is launched I hope there will be a good response. We have many substantial citizens in this town, who are very liberally-minded and I hope they will give well and generously so that we may have a memorial which is worthy of Whakatane.” , ,
