Fine Weekend
The gloriously fine weekend drew all Whakatane out of doors. Ohope Beach was popular and throughout Sunday hundreds of people travelled to the resort which was dotted with picnic parties. At the Heads too an unusually large crowd of visitors were to be seen and one resident stated that he had not seen so many children there before.
