SUCCESSFUL TANEATUA FUNCTION /■•

A happy gathering of friends attended the social and dance arranged in honour of Miss Nancy Shaw and Mr Des Bruere which was 'held in the Taneatua Hall recently.s

Dancing to music provided by Mrs Gardner, Miss Launa Print, Mr Allen Bell and Mr Greg Grey; ping pong; and cards, provided entertainment to suit all tastes, and the evening went with a merry swing. ’ After a delicious supper had been served, Mrs N. Semmens, President of the Ladies’ Hockey Club, thanked Miss Shaw for the interest she had shown in sporting activities in the district, and the work , she had put into them. She then presented a cheque together with best wishes for a happy future in her new home. Miss Launa Print spoke on behalf of the' Basketball Club, and presented a gift as a token of appreciation from that club. Mr Bruere replied suitably on behalf of Miss Shaw and himself. Midnight saw the close of the evening with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
