It was bered and had been sealed and stamped by the deputy returning officer. The voter solved the diffi-' ; culty by writing in the surname of the candidate for wjaom she wished to vote and placing the paper in the r box. She was later assured 'by th.e deputy that the vote was valid. •

Christmas Cheer , Following the conclusion of the usual business transacted at the Borough Council meeting last Monday evening, there was a general ad- rejournment for the .purpose x>f honouring in traditional fashion the’ final meeting of the year.
