Be Your Own Lawyer (?)

The advisability of shunning legal advice in favour of one’s own decisions in Court was commented on by Mr E. L. Walton S.M., in the Whakatane Magistrate’s Court last Tuesday during the hearing of a case concerning maintenance in which a Maori was involved. “You should get some legal advice,” said Mr Walton. “If you try to be your own lawyer you’ll only make a mess of it.”
