GERMANY IS WONDERFUL
VIEWS OF BRITISH BRIDE LIFE EASIER THAN IN ENGLAND 8.A.0.R. wives need have no misgivings about life in Germany, according to British brides of U.S. servicemen who have been there some time. Miss Rita Nicholls, whose home is at 37, Sparkenhoe-street, Highfield, Leicester, said:— “Life here is wonderful. No bride in England could ever .dream of such luxuries to start up family life. “I have a housekeeper and two maids to run this beautiful house, with its large fruit garden, and more rooms than we can use. “We have as much meat as we want and plenty of fresh eggs. “Life here is a hundred times easier than it is in England,” she added. There is, however, one piece of advice. Expectant mothers should buy baby clothes in England. They are difficult to get. Mrs John Chalmers, of 111, Ches-terton-road, Cambridge, said she was surprised to read that 8.A.0.R. men thought Germany too grim for wives and families.
“Like other Englishwoman I have been agreeably surprised. I have a beautifully furnished house, two servants and ample food.”
