WHAKATANE CLUB GATHERING

PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES

Perfect weather favoured the closing day’s activities for the Wliakatane Golf Club last Saturday when a thoroughly enjoyable programme including mixed Canadian Foursomes occupied the major part of the day. There was an excellent muster of members, friends and visiting golfers. At the conclusion of play ~ past president Mr Les Luxton presented the trophies won during the season. Before doing so he mentioned Ahat over the 32 years of the club’s activities it had played on no less than six different courses—Apanui, Mokorua, Kopeopeo, Keegan’s, Goile’s and finally on its own course at Paroa of which all members were • v ) justly proud. Combes mentioned that there had been many enquiries for the running of a Summer Cup competition, he congratulated the winners and added that if any should be interested in the new suggestion they should hand their names to the secretary and the prospect would be thoroughly explored.
