STEWART CUP RACE HELD The contest between crews of the Whakatanef Rowing Club for the Stewart Challenge Cup took place last Saturday, four crews competing. The weather was perfect for the event, and the final was rowed in good time." In the first heat, B. Cutler, S. Dent, G. Moore and B. Fitzgefald (Windley, cox) beat D. Keepa, Hunt, Burt and Armstrong by one length. The second heat was won by B. Rivett, L. Carey, A. Edmondson and A. Atkinson (Windley, cox) who crossed the line two lengths ahead of D. Kahui, D. Keepa, G. Dines and K. Dines. In the final, Cutler’s crew, coxed by Windley, beat Rivett’s crew. A further series of trial fours is to take place this "Saturday. All rowers are requested to be present at the Rowing Shed by 10 a.m.
