Whakatane Golf Club
Closing day for the Whakatane Club is to be held tomorrow with a Mixed Canadian Foursome over 9 holes, long driving and other competitions. This will be followed by the annual prize giving.
School Flower Show The' first flower show to be held by the Whakatane District High School takes place in the Caledonian Hall today. A. large number of children are exhibiting, and it is expected that interest in horticulture and nature study will be • increased by the display.. Milling Accident Leon Holst, a 15 year old employee of Fenton’s Mill was admitted to the Whakatane Public Hospital earlier in the week after an accident sustained whilst he was docking slabs on a power saw. His condition is now satisfactory. Another accident connected with timber also occurred several days ago at Edgecumbe, when Darkey Cable suffered severe injuries to his right arm through a log rolling on it. He was admitted to the Whakatane Public Hospital, where his condition is described as satisfactory.
