GOOD FIRST-OF-SEASON PLAY
A good standard of play for the beginning of the season was achieved on Sunday, when the opening day of cricket in the district took place. At the Whakatane Domain, Paroa defeated United, whilst at Taneatua the home side defeated Edgecumbe. The matches were played in the first round of the Collin's Shield.
