WHAKATANE EXECUTIVE

At the October meeting of the Whakatane branch of the R.S.A. the following were present: Messrs. C. R. Wilson (in the chair), Doug. Wilson, L. M. Roach, J. H. Armstrong, G. W. Mexted, J. Bryant, T. Macken, Geo. Otley, J. Stewart, N. Patterson, A. Hall, G. Santon, R. Bluett and C. Head. Apologies were, received from Messrs. L. H. Brown, D. G. Wilson and B. Cutler. >, Messrs. L. H. Brown and C. R. Wilson were elected as delegates to the conferences at Te Puke on 2/11/47 and Rotorua. The minutes of a meeting of the Transport Sub-Committee were fully discussed and it was decided to bring the question forward at the Bay of Plenty Conference to be held at Te Puke.

A letter of thanks and appreciation was received from a Serviceman who had been given assistance. •Mr G. W. Mexted’s action in giving a 25 per cent, reduction to Returned Servicemen purchasing his bulls at the Pedigree Bull Sale over the past three years was brought before the meeting and several members expressed appreciation of his generous and spontaneous action. A motion of thanks to Mr Mexted was carried by acclamation.
